Compare supplier quotes by landed cost per unit

Normalize pack quantities and shipping before choosing a supplier.

The cheapest pack price is not necessarily the cheapest unit price. A pack of 12 and a pack of 20 need the same comparison basis, and shipping per pack changes the result.

Prepare your input

Collect a CSV with currency, SKU, supplier, units per pack and pack price. Add shipping per pack if known. Compare equivalent product specifications and pack units; a low number for a different grade of product is not a valid saving.

Work through the task

Map each field in Supplier Quote Compare. It calculates unit cost as pack price plus shipping for one pack, divided by units in that pack. Review the ranking for each currency/SKU group, including ties. Invalid rows are excluded with visible warnings; export the ranked result after checking them.

Example to try

Supplier A quotes 10 units for 100 plus 20 shipping per pack: 12 per unit. Supplier B quotes 20 units for 210 with no pack shipping: 10.50 per unit. That favors B on the entered cost, but may change if B requires five packs or has a longer lead time. Record those constraints before choosing.

Check the result

Before placing an order, write down minimum order quantities, taxes, lead time and return terms separately. Reproduce the selected quote with a calculator to ensure the source file's shipping assumption is per pack, not per shipment.

Know the current limits

The app does not convert currencies, validate live exchange rates or enforce minimum-order rules. It helps compare quoted inputs, not issue a purchase order.
