Copying last month's quote into a new file makes it easy to carry forward an old customer, date or price. A numbered quotation gives both parties a clear reference for later discussion.
Prepare your input
Prepare the customer name, line descriptions, quantities, prices and one explicit currency. Decide whether a fixed discount applies. Tax, if relevant, must be calculated outside this release.
Work through the task
Use Quotation Builder to create a new document number, add line items and inspect the subtotal. Each line is rounded to two decimals before the subtotal is summed; a fixed discount cannot exceed it. Save as draft, then export a printable HTML copy to review with the customer. The app has draft, sent, accepted and rejected statuses. Duplicate as new quote creates an independent draft with a reference to its source.
Example to try
A quote has two lines: three units at 12.50 and one service at 8.00. Check each rounded line and the subtotal before applying a fixed discount. When the customer changes quantity, duplicate the quote as a new draft with a new number and check the copied date and customer details. Keep approval messages separately.
Check the result
Before sharing, check customer details, currency, dates, all line quantities and the final total. If revising, give the new document its own number and verify copied fields rather than treating status as an approval trail.
Know the current limits
There is no automatic sending, tax engine, currency conversion or online customer acceptance.
