Review expiring batches with a chosen as-of date

Make a visible handling list without changing stock quantities.

An expiry report is only useful when its date and horizon are clear. The same stock can appear urgent in a 30-day view but absent in a 7-day view.

Prepare your input

Enter each product, batch identifier, quantity, expiry date and location. Check labels on the physical stock before typing dates; the app validates calendar dates, including leap days.

Work through the task

Set As of and Days ahead in Expiry and Batch Tracker, choose Only expiry alerts, then Refresh. Expiry on the as-of day and earlier is included; zero-stock and Consumed batches are excluded from alerts. Export visible CSV for exactly the list you are reviewing, or Export all CSV for the full database. Repeated batch identifiers in different products or locations receive separate record IDs.

Example to try

A batch expiring on 20 November may appear in a 30-day view taken on 25 October but not in a 7-day view. Write the chosen as-of date and horizon beside any exported handling list. If stock was consumed yesterday, mark its record appropriately before exporting; zero-stock and Consumed batches are excluded from alerts.

Check the result

Compare the exported list with shelves, decide what to use, quarantine or investigate under your own policy, and record any real stock movement in the system that owns inventory.

Know the current limits

Alerts do not change quantities, reserve stock or send background notifications. This is a local review tool, not an automated recall system.
