SpecCompare privacy policy

Effective 18 October 2026. SpecCompare is operated by PINETECH IT SOLUTIONS PRIVATE LIMITED under the Coderbunch brand.

Information used

When a merchant installs SpecCompare, Shopify provides the shop domain, an access token, and standard session and staff account fields. We store these in an application session database to authenticate the embedded app. The app requests read_products and write_products to find products and save or clear specifications. It does not request customer or order scopes or copy the product catalog into its database.

Product specifications and storefront

Rows are stored in the merchant's Shopify product metafield custom.speccompare_specs. Selected products and the optional heading are stored in Shopify theme block settings. The storefront theme extension reads that Shopify data and does not send shopper browsing activity, names, emails, or orders to Coderbunch. It uses no tracking cookies or pixels.

Use and sharing

We use merchant session information to operate the app and make authorized Shopify Admin API requests. We do not sell merchant or shopper information. Our hosting provider processes application traffic and operational logs on our behalf. Shopify processes installation, authentication, theme extension delivery, and store data under its own policies.

Retention and deletion

SpecCompare deletes stored sessions after an authenticated app-uninstalled or shop-redact webhook. Authenticated customer data request and customer redact webhooks return without customer data because the app keeps no customer records. Merchants can clear rows in App Home; theme settings and metafields are otherwise governed by their Shopify store. Operational logs may contain a shop domain and are retained only as needed to operate and secure the service.

Security and requests

The app uses HTTPS and verifies Shopify webhook signatures. Access tokens stay on the application server, not in storefront code. For access, correction, or deletion questions, email support@coderbunch.com. We will update this policy and its effective date if the app changes.
